Admissions

Policy

Harford Lutheran welcomes applications from students desiring a challenging academic program within a Christian environment. Each applicant is evaluated on the strength of academic achievement, readiness, test scores, sense of responsibility, and desire to succeed in a Christian atmosphere. Admission is open to all students despite race, color, national, and ethnic origin who possess the motivation, ability and character that would enable them to succeed in a rigorous academic environment.

Procedure

  1. The admissions process begins with receipt of the application and fee. It will acquaint families and prospective students with as many aspects of the school as possible. The application may be obtained by contacting the Director of Admissions at Harford Lutheran School.
  2. Parents are encouraged to attend an Open House, or make an appointment to visit the school. You will meet with the Admissions Director, tour the campus, and have the opportunity to look in on classes.
  3. A transcript covering previous academic work is required. Please request your child's school records from the current and previous year be sent to the HLS Admissions Office.
  4. All applicants are required to take an admissions test. Testing is conducted periodically throughout the year. When HLS receives the application and fee, the student is scheduled for testing. Parents can also call the Admissions Office to arrange a testing date.
  5. An interview with the applicant and his/her parents is required. An interview appointment time will be given when the applicant comes in for testing.
